1. GENERAL
Oakwood Doors is pleased to accept orders subject to the Terms and Conditions of Sale as stated below. We sell our products to you subject to the terms and conditions listed here. Please read them carefully before using the website.By using our website, you signify your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website.
Unless expressly agreed in writing (for example in the case of a tender), any alteration to these conditions will not apply. In these terms “you” and “your” as appropriate refer to the Buyer and “us”, and “our” and “we” refer to the Seller, Oakwood Doors & Spray Finishes Ltd. “Days refers to working days, being Monday to Friday inclusive excluding bank holidays, unless otherwise stated.
The term ‘Oakwood Doors & spray finishes Ltd] or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Oakwood Doors & Spray Finishes Ltd, Unit 14 Oakes Mills West, New Hey Road, Huddersfield HD3 4BY. Our company registration number is 6738169.
We reserve the right not to accept any order request if:
- We do not have the stock.
- We are no longer able to purchase the stock.
- The delivery address for the order is not in the designated areas.
- The goods were at the wrong price or had an incorrect description.
2.QUOTATIONS & PROMOTIONS (Special Offers).
Our quotations remain valid for 30 days from the date of their issue. Quotations are for the sole use of the addressee and we reserve the right to withdraw a quotation which has been passed by you to a third part.
Promotions are usually available on all orders between a specified date and only apply while promotional stocks last. If no specified date is displayed on the item you can contact Sales on Tel : 01484 643394 to confirm how long the offer is expected to last.
3. DOORS - DELIVERY & COLLECTION OF GOODS
In normal circumstances :
- We will deliver an order within the agreed delivery period (once additional payment processed), but we cannot be held liable for any loss caused by late delivery. If we do deliver late you are not entitled to regard this as a breach of contract.

If an item is out of stock, we will only send out complete orders unless extra carriage charges have been paid - Sales will contact you if items are out of stock with an estimted due date.
- Deliveries are sub contracted out with a Logistics company which specialise in delivering timber items. The couriers will contact the customer direct to confirm the delivery date.
- If your area is within a Toll Charge / Congestion charge- we will contact you for a further payment towards the delivery or alternatively we can deliver to an area out of the toll charges / congestion charges.

All product Description Codes with "XL" or "LPD" ordered and paid for, before Tuesday 10am within the Green Area of the Delivery Map (stock allowing) will be delivered the same week, unless we have stated otherwise.
- Product Description Codes with "J" or JBKind (stock allowing) will be delivered within 10 working days.
- Orders placed for delivery in the "Yellow Areas of the Delivery Map" are delivered within 10 working days. Cut off for delivery is each Thursday 11.30am for orders to be processed and collected by the haulage company on the following day, Friday. Orders placed after this cut off, will be processed for collection the following Friday and the 10 working days will start from this date, unless we have stated otherwise.
- Goods will be delivered to the delivery address supplied by you. You are considered to have given authority to accept a delivery on your behalf or any person who actually accepts delivery at the delivery address.
- If we or the goods carrier cannot deliver to the delivery address then we may either store the goods and deliver at a later date, or return the goods to stock and deliver similar goods later. An extra storage charge may be charged.
- You are obliged to provide adequate labour facilities at the delivery or collection address to unload or load the Goods without undue delay. We will require compensation for any loss we suffer arising from delivery or collection or non-delivery or non-collection of the Goods. If it is not our fault, or that of our carrier, that any delivery or collection is delayed or cannot be carried out then we will charge you for any extra costs incurred.
- If we deliver in instalments to you, then each instalment is a separate contract. If payment in full is not made to us at the proper time for orders which have already been delivered, then we may withhold or cancel delivery of any other of your orders which have not yet been delivered.
- Our prices exclude delivery or transport charges, (unless orders over £600 within the "Green" areas of the Delivery Map which is FREE Delivery), insurance in transit taxes. We will charge you extra for transport, packaging, taxes and insurance as applicable. You can contact Oakwood Doors Tel;01484 643394 for quotations for delivery within the Yellow areas of the Map. Orders less than £600 within the Green areas of the Map is £39.00 inc. vat.
- Please note: If there is no one available to accept the delivery on the day agreed with the courier, a £50 approx. charge for redelivery will be payable directly to the courier. If you are unable to accommodate the delivery, you must inform us at least 24hrs in advance of the delivery day. However, if the revised delivery date exceeds 21 days from the date of the original delivery, a storage charge may apply and the goods will not be redelivered until this has been paid.
- All our courier delivery services operate on a Mon-Fri rota, and we regret that it will not be possible for us to offer a weekend delivery / collection service, irrespective of circumstance.
- EXCHANGES - Please contact Oakwood Doors Tel : 01484 643394. If you have ordered the wrong items or sizes and these have been delivered and you request an exchange. Clearance Items can not be exchanged. The fees are as follows :
- If you are within the Green Areas of the Map - Delivery will be £50 inc. vat to arrange a re delivery of your items and a further £50.00 inc. vat to collect and return the original order.
- Yellow Areas of the Delivery Map - Please contact Oakwood Doors for a quotation.
- Oakwood Doors subsidise the carriage costs on general orders, but due to the carriage charges incurred on exchanges Oakwood Doors are unable to offer the standard charges.

Customers can alternatively return their doors to Oakwood Doors (carriage paid by customer) & collect their exchange at no cost. Please contact Sales on Tel : 01484 643394 to arrange this.
- To avoid any of the above costs, please try to ensure all the items that you have ordered are the correct size. If you have ordered an item incorrectly please ring Oakwood Doors asap, on Tel : 01484 643394, so we can organise the correct item to be despatched. Alternatively please email on sales@oakwooddoors.co.uk
- If items are returned by the customer as they believe the item is not free from defect and requests a replacement item. " We " will inspect the item upon it's return. If "we" agree the defect we will book out a further replacement at no extra cost to the customer. However, if we find the return has no defect we will not be liable for any carriage costs incurred. The customer will be notifyed of the decision and should pay the extra cost for the item to be re delivered.

HANDLES & Ironmongery is Standard 3 day delivery.
- Ironmongery only - Orders over £150.00 are FREE delivery.
- If you have placed an order for doors which is over the Free Delivery charge, any handles, ironmongery added to this order will be sent out Free of charge.
- Orders less than £150.00 a £10 carriage charge applies.
- COLLECTION OF GOODS : Please contact Oakwood Doors to arrange collection date of your goods, to ensure items are available - to enable Oakwood Doors to transfer stock.

COLLECTION OF GOODS - Items marked "XL" or "LPD" /L - Customers can collect items marked XL direct from Batley, with 3 hours notice. Items marked LPD / L can be collected direct from Leeds. a). DAMAGES/FAULTS /Complaints
For reasons of damage/faults & Complaints - you must report this on the delivery note at time of accepting delivery and return the item with the driver.

It is the responsibility of the customer to sign for the quantity of items received. Failure to do so will be deemed acceptance of quantities shown on your invoice & delivery note. If the customer has instructed the carrier to leave items unsigned for this will be at the customers own liability. If there is a fault or damage and the items were left unchecked Oakwood Doors will accept no liability. "We" ask that all deliveries are signed and checked for.
Please return Damaged / Faulty or incorrect orders with the driver and note this on the delivery note, or please sign the delivery note to confirm goods received and checked in good condition.
Any damages you should record this on the delivery note and contact Tel : 01484 643394 within 48 hours. Claims can not be accepted at a later date.
4.PRICES
All prices are quoted inclusive of Value Added Tax (“VAT”).
5.PAYMENT
Unless otherwise stated, invoices must be paid at the time of ordering goods.
- If an account has been opened and we have agreed, invoices must be paid within 28 calendar days of their date. If you have not paid in full by that date then:-
- We will be entitled to charge you interest at 4% above the current base lending rate of the National Westminster Bank, compounded daily, on the amount outstanding until it has been paid in full.
- When checking out in your cart if making payment with a Credit card this will add a 1% fee. Debit cards do not incur any additional payment fee.
- BACS payments accepted - Please contact Sales Tel : 01484 64394 for Sort Code and Account Number.
c) If you have a dispute or counterclaim with us, you will not be entitled to make any reduction in or deferment of payment because of the dispute or counterclaim.
d) Payment will not be deemed to have been made until any and all cheques, drafts and bills by which payment is to be effected has been cleared or honoured as the case may be.
5a) PAYMENT via SAGE PAY
Online Payment Gateway used by Oakwood Doors & Spray Finishes Ltd.
Sage Pay is audited by an independent auditor on a regular basis to ensure that complyS with the latest security standards set out by Visa and MasterCard. If you have processed your order online using the payment pages hosted by Sage Pay, please locate and click on the padlock image which can be found on the payment pages to confirm that your details are collected in a secure environment.
The padlock is located in a different area of the payment page screen depending on the internet browser you are using – it can normally be found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, at the top of the screen next to (or inside) the address bar or at the very top right hand corner of the screen. This padlock shows that your details are collected using 128 bit SSL technology.
Once you have entered your card details, Sage Pay will securely send these details to the bank to be authorised. This is a completely secure process and Sage Pay ensure that your details cannot be accessed by a third party.
Sage pay is audited annually under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) and is a fully approved Level 1 payment services provider, which is the highest level of compliance. Sage Pay are also active members of the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) that defines card industry global regulation.
3D Secure stands for 3 Domain Secure. There are 3 parties involved in the 3D Secure process which are:
• The Vendor
• The Acquiring Bank
• Visa and MasterCard
3D Secure is a culmination of Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard Secure Code (MSC). It is the latest fraud prevention initiative launched by card schemes as a more secure method for authenticating the shopper at the time of the transaction. Visa and MasterCard will take responsibility for your 3D Secure Authenticated transactions, taking the liability and reducing the risk of chargebacks. (Please double check with your merchant acquirer on any occasions you believe liability should have shifted).
When you pay for your online order you will be sent to either a successful payment page, which will notify you that your payment has gone through, or a failed payment page advising you of the step you will need to take and/or the reason why your payment failed. You may also receive a confirmation email from the Sage Pay system which confirms the status of your transaction or this may come from the website directly.

Security is important to us and because of that Oakwood Doors is secured with a 128 bit SSL certificate signed by Equifax. All payments are processed by Sagepay with none of your credit card details being stored on our servers
6. WARRANTY
a) All goods supplied by us are supplied by XL Joinery Ltd, LPD, PM Mendes & JB Kind Ltd who are not responsible for the manufacture of the items. All goods are deemed as suitable for the purpose for which they are designed under fair conditions. Our liability under this Warranty will be limited to the replacement, or goods acknowledged by us to be faulty, provided that such faults have not been caused by your misuse of the goods or your negligent handling of them. You must handle store and use the items strictly in accordance with the recommendations for use of the manufacturers of the items.
Goods supplied by Oakwood Doors & Spray Finishes Ltd are guaranteed from defects in manufacture for twelve months from date of receipt to the original purchaser. Any claims against extended warranties offered by our suppliers must be taken up with them directly. Oakwood Doors will supply contact details but will not be liable with any such claims. The warranty supplied with your product applies to all goods installed on UK Mainland only. Warranties apply to goods or products which have been treated / decorated / trimmed and installed in accordance with the manufacturers and our instructions.
All of the doors described with the symbol "Engineered" Walnut, Oak or Hardwood within this website are engineered construction with high quality Walnut, Oak or Hardwood veneer.
For Doors described as Moulded - these doors have an egg box core construction.

b) Wood Finishes
There are numerous brands on the market and we fear many are formulated to achieve a low market price rather than quality. Be sure to select one to provide a lasting seal between component parts, using a good quality high build solvent based wood stain finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. It is vital all finishing systems are applied equally to both sides and edges at the same time. For a further guide for treatment of your doors and external doors see our FAQ's and Technical section. Failure to treat items in accordance with the Manufacturers recommendations will invalidate any guarantee.
a) Please notify Oakwood Doors & Spray Finishes Ltd., in writing if your item has failed to perform within the guarantee period. We would also ask you to confirm the wood finish/ product that has been applied to the items and any images/photos you may have.
Detailed images on our website have been taken in the Spray Shop. These images are generally taken either before finishing or after they have been pre finished. If you would like to discuss in more detail please contact Sales Tel : 01484 643394.
TIMBER VARIATION
Timber is variable in colour and this is not classed as a manufacturing fault, but is the nature of the timber.
Images and timber colours on our website are used to represent the design of the doors. Designs and colours of the images should not be taken as a true reflection of the doors that we would deliver. Some of the images have been stained or varnished. The doors that we supply will be unfinished unless otherwise stated as a Pre Finished Door.
Timber is a natural product and therefore is liable to colour variations. Manufacturers and suppliers try to colour match the timber in each door but are not able to give a guarantee that one door will match another. This is not classed as a manufacturing fault, but is the nature of the timber.
Oak Veneered doors are American white Oak which is more variable in colour, ranging from pale yellow-brown to pale reddish-brown.

7. DISTANCE SELLING REGULATIONS section
The purchase of goods and services over the internet, by phone or by mail order generally is subject to the Distance Selling Regulations. One of the most important implications of these regulations is a cooling off period of 7 days during which you have the right to cancel.
You have the right to cancel your contract at any time within 7 days of receipt of the goods you ordered. Goods must be returned in good condition & original packaging for a full refund (excluding the original carriage charge), to the address below. A collection charge will be made, which will be notified to you at the time of return, unless the product is faulty. (See Damages Section).
Green Areas of the Delivery map, Collection Charge : £50.00 inc. vat.
Yellow Areas of the Delivery map, you will need to contact Sales tel : 01484 643394 for a quotation.

On receipt of your correspondence you will receive a Credit Note number which you should quote on the items being returned as your reference number. If you need to contact us to discuss further please contact Tel : 01484 643394.
Please Note : This excludes Pre Hung Doorsets and Items that you have had Spray finished. These are classed as special order products.
CHANGE OF MIND (after the initial 7 day cooling off period).
Please Note: There will be a restocking recharge of 25% plus VAT.
- The doors must be undamaged & still in their original packaging.
- See our Distance Selling Regulations Section 7.
- If you have ordered your doors finishing, and we have already started this process, there will be no refund.
- If the items are Pre Hung Door Sets (bespoke items) made to your specification, there will be no refund.
- We hope you will be satisfied with any product purchased on our website, but if you wish to return a product to us for any reason you may do so within 21 days of the despatch date. It must be in a saleable condition and in its original undamaged packaging, with tags, labels and accessories. We will refund the price of the product to the purchaser, but we will consider the overall condition of the product being returned when making a refund.
- Carriage paid by the customer.
- We recommend that you obtain proof of delivery for any item that you return as faulty, as this will be required in the event that your parcel does not reach us.
e) RETURNS
RETURNS - (Incorrect Orders). For reasons other than door damage we operate the following returns policy within t& after the initial 7 day cooling off period (under the Distance selling Regulations).
*All goods that you may wish to be returned must be of a saleable quality & in their original packaging. We will inspect the doors on return and any account adjustments will only be made once we are sure that the doors can be re-sold.
*If we are satisfied doors are in a saleable condition and in the original packaging we will charge minimum 25% excluding VAT for the restocking charge. All deliveries you have received and signed for within a 21 day period. After this date we reserve the right not to accept the Returns.
Carriage for the return is to be paid by the Customer.
Please bear in mind if your original order was sent out as "Free Delivery" as the total order was over £600.00 we reserve the right to ask for the carriage to be met for the original order, as the amended order after a return was less than the £600 and would not have qualified for the Free Delivery.
In an instance where a parcel does not reach us and proof of delivery cannot be produced, we regret that we will be unable to offer a refund.

* If you have ordered a finish for your doors and this work is in process or finished we are unable to offer a refund as this is a specific custom made order.

Door items are too large to return by post. We can arrange a courier returns collection for you. F) REFUNDS
We the supplier must reimburse you within 30 days of cancellation, without charge, unless you have been informed that you will be liable for the cost of returning the goods. If you have any related credit agreements, these will also be cancelled.
If the customer requires a refund for goods purchased by debit or credit card, this will always be completed using the same card that was used for the original transaction. We can not offer refund by using another method of payment eg., cash or cheque.
Does the right to cancel apply for all goods bought by mail order?
There are obvious exceptions and you will not have the right to cancel with the purchase of the following goods:
- Goods made to a personalised specification ie., spray finished / pre hung door sets, finished to you (customer(s) requirement.
- Perishable goods, such as foodstuffs and flowers
- Audio/video recordings or software where the seal has been broken
- Newspapers, magazines or other reading material (not books)
- Gaming, betting, lotteries
8. FORCE MAJEURE
We reserve the right to cancel an order or suspend or delay delivery of it without being liable for any loss or damage if supply of the goods is prevented or delayed by reason of war, (whether declared or not), civil strife, riots, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, labour disputes accidents or any other cause or circumstances beyond our control.
9. RETENTION OF TITLE AND SET-OFF
a) General – Notwithstanding delivery of goods, we will still own them until you have paid in full for them in accordance with this contract.
10. CARE OF TIMBER DOORS ON SITE
Important.
Doors must be handled with care and stored flat and level in a dry and clean warehouse or storage facilities. Before door(s) are delivered for installation to site, ensure that all plaster, texture or cement must be completely dry as excessive moisture penetration to the door may result in breakdown of the joints.
Always treat the end grain and ensure that a good treatment is applied to all surfaces. Pay close attention to top and bottom edges, cut areas for lock and hinge housings and holes for letter plates.
11. INTERPRETATION AND VALIDITY
The construction, validity and performance of this contract will be governed only by English law, and the English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction. The interpretation of any clause or sub-clause above will not in any way be limited or restricted by reference to or interference from any clause or sub-clause. If for any reason one clause or sub-clause is enforceable according to its terms then the others will remain in full force and effect.
